Short documentation of some files on our ftp Server
ftp.thp.Uni-Duisburg.DE
Here we provide some information about files on our ftp server. We
only have a small server, but some things you'll find only here. These
are some programs, libraries and tools to make life
easier and which could be of a wider interest. Most of them are
written by ourselves. Some will run on a lot of unix systems, other
only under AIX V3, the main OS we're using.
-
Ygl
is a graphics library that emulates two-dimensional GL routines
under X11. No special hardware is required. It runs on many UNIX
systems, e. g. AIX, HP-UX, Linux, ...
Here you can download the latest version of
Ygl.tar.gz (50 kB).
-
pstree
is a small program that shows the process-listing
as a tree (as the name implies...). It has several options to make
selection criteria and to change the output style.
It should compile under most UNIXes, tested are AIX, HP-UX, A/UX,
SunOS, Linux and others.
Here you can download
pstree.tar.gz (10 kB).
- utpc
is an alpha version of a Turbo Pascal compatiblity
library for AIX xlp pascal. Some functions from the units crt and
graph are supported. Far from complete due to lack of time. Any help
appreciated...
Here you can download
utpc-0.11.tar.Z (33 kB).
- untex is a replacement for detex.
It strips LaTeX commands from the input files.
Here you can download
untex-1.2.tar.gz (5 kB)
-
xform is a very small interface builder for X11.
You'll need the xview widget library.
The source for xform is
xform-1.12.tar.gz (19 kB).
- faxiobe is a fax backend for AIX. It works together with
mgetty017-jan30.tar.gz (180 kB), the mgetty+sendfax package. It is
included in this package.
- rename, relink are two little korn-shell scripts for
modifying filenames and name of links. They use sed so they
work on a regexp base. cdhist is a korn-shell addon for cd
history. nmcat is a multifunctional tool that runs commands
(like nm, cat, strings; based on the name by which it is called) on
its arguments and prepends the name of the file to the output.
replace runs sed on its arguments to replace text in files in
an easy way. treegrep runs grep recursively on file in a
diretory tree. All these scripts are
here.
- mrgpwd.el is a perl script that is useful on AIX machines
running NIS. It is a replacement for the mrgpwd command. You
can specify a minimum uid for the distribution of passwords and it
additionally honours the login attribute (modfied with
chuser). Get it from
here.
- Traffic is a program that will
graphically display the network traffic under X11. Traffic uses
the Simple Network Monitor Protocol (SNMP) and will only run under AIX
3.2 on RS/6000s. Included into the tar file are the binary and the
source, as Traffic needs a special library to compile. You can
download Traffic
here (65 kB).
